JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will be making urgent bridge expansion joint replacements that will require westbound Interstate 435 to be reduced to three lanes between Three Trails Crossing and 103rd Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, until Thursday, Dec. 22. This closure will be in place 24/7 during this time period and is anticipated to cause significant delays. Additionally, these repairs will require the following ramp closures:

  • NEW: One lane on the ramp from southbound I-435 to westbound I-435 will be closed. One lane will remain open.
  • NEW: One lane on the ramp from westbound I-470 to westbound I-435 will be closed. Two lanes will remain open.
  • The ramp from southbound U.S. 71 to westbound I-435.
  • The ramp from Bannister Road to westbound I-435.

This work is expected to cause significant traffic impacts to westbound I-470, northbound I-49, southbound I-435, and southbound U.S. 71. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, leave early, or seek alternate routes if possible. All work is weather permitting.

For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE.
