MoDOT Hosts Public Information Meeting to Share Route 100 Project Traffic Study Results

FRANKLIN COUNTY -  The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a public information meeting from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1 to share findings of the Missouri Route 100 project traffic study.  The open-house style meeting will be held at the Washington City Hall Council Chambers, 405 Jefferson St., Washington, MO  63090.

The project consists of various intersection improvements along Missouri Route 100 in Washington, MO from St Johns Rd. to Route AT.   The issues along Route 100 include high traffic volumes at intersections, short or no turning lane, motorists traveling at high speeds, and high crash rates at intersections with 43% of all crashes being rear-end crashes.

Currently, this project is unfunded. The study has been conducted to determine alternatives at each of the intersections that will improve traffic flow and safety along the Route 100 corridor.

There will not be a formal presentation, and individuals can attend the meeting at any time during the open house to speak with MoDOT engineers and designers on the results of the study.
