BATES CITY – Route D off Interstate 70 in Lafayette County will be closed from just south of the interstate to just north of Love’s Travel Stop for pavement resurfacing from Nov. 11-25. Additionally, both the off-ramp from westbound I-70 to Route D as well as the on-ramp from Route D to westbound I-70 will be closed during the time. Motorists will need to find alternate routes. Access to Outer Road will be available during construction, but only from the north.
“This is a much-needed pavement improvement project that we wouldn’t have been able to complete without the partnership of Love’s Travel Stop,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Ben McCabe. “We appreciate their commitment to transportation and to the safety of the traveling public.”
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
