Carroll County routes to be resurfaced

Part of Gov. Parson's Rural Roads Program

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – As part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Roads program, the Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Capital Paving & Construction, LLC to resurface 20 routes, more than 148 lane miles, in Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Monroe, and Randolph counties. The contractor is currently planning to resume asphalt work on Howard County Route HH on Monday, Oct. 31 and could begin asphalt resurfacing in Carroll County on the routes listed below as early as Thursday, Nov. 3.

  • Carroll County Route MM from U.S. Route 24 east of Carrollton to the end of state maintenance

During construction, motorists will be directed through the one-lane work zones by flaggers. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place while work zones are active. Crews will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Saturday. All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

Additional routes are included in this resurfacing bundle. Several routes could be under construction at the same time. All work in this project bundle is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2023:

This project is part of Gov. Parson’s Rural Roads program. The state’s approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget provided an additional $100 million in General Revenue for work on Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, MoDOT has identified approximately 1700 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. By next summer, these 113 locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions.
