ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin next week on Daviess County Route AA from Route Z to Route T. Contractors from Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation and prime contractor Herzog Contracting Corp., will close Route AA in 2-mile increments beginning next Friday, Nov. 4 for milling and paving, starting at Route Z and working north to Route T near McFall.
Crews plan to work daylight hours, Monday through Saturday. Motorists will need to use an alternate route during the daily closures which could continue through Nov. 9 or later, depending on the weather.
Following the completion of Route AA, crews plan to close three more routes in this bundle of resurfacing projects, also in 2-mile increments, before pausing work for the winter:
- Route ZZ, starting at Gentry County Route T in McFall and moving north to Harrison County U.S. Route 136 at New Hampton
- Harrison County, Route EE starting at Route M and working south to U.S. Route 136 at New Hampton
- Route N, starting from Route M in Worth County to U.S. Route 136 in Gentry County
All work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
When work resumes in 2023, Herzog Contracting Corp. plans to resurface the three routes remaining in this bundle: Nodaway/Atchison County Route C, Nodaway County Route KK, and Nodaway County Route D.
Holt County Route B has already been completed as part of this bundle of resurfacing projects.
