JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will be continuing expansion joint repairs along northbound and southbound Interstate 29/I-35 (Bond Bridge) over the Missouri River this weekend. This repair will require various lanes closures along I-29/I-35 between Front Street and Levee Road. Beginning Saturday morning, northbound I-29/I-35 will to be reduced to ONE LANE. Both of the ramps to and from Front Street will remain open. Motorists should expect delays in the area. Repairs are expected to begin on the southbound side of the bridge beginning on Sunday, Oct. 30. All work is weather permitting.
Northbound Impacts
- The left lane of northbound I-29/I-35 over the Missouri River (between Front Street and Levee Road) is currently closed for repairs and will remain closed throughout the weekend.
- CORRECTION: Beginning at approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, crews will also close the middle lane of northbound I-29/I-35 over the Missouri River (between Front Street and Levee Road). The area will be REDUCED to ONE LANE until approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30.
Southbound Impacts
- Beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30, crews will CLOSE the left most lane of southbound I-29/I-35 over the Missouri River (between Levee Road and Front Street) until approximately 5 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 4.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
