Starts Tonight: Lane and ramp closures scheduled for portions of I-49 beginning on Oct. 19

CASS COUNTY – Crews will be completing resurfacing work along various portions of northbound and southbound Interstate 49 beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, through Friday, Oct. 21. This work will require the following closures. All work is weather permitting.

Wednesday, Oct. 19

  • Crews will close the right most lanes of both northbound and southbound I-49, as well as the northbound and southbound I-49 off ramp at Peculiar Way beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Crews will also close the northbound off ramp from I-49 to Cass Parkway beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.

Thursday, Oct. 20

  • Crews will close the right most lane of both northbound and southbound I-49 from approximately Peculiar Way to MO Route beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning.
  • Beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning crews will close:
    • The southbound I-49 off ramp to Peculiar Way.
    • The northbound I-49 on ramp from Cass Parkway.
    • The northbound I-49 on and off ramps at MO Route 58.

Friday, Oct. 21

  • Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, until 7 a.m. the following morning, crews will close:
    • The right most lane of northbound I-49 between MO Route 58 and 163rd Street.
    • The on ramp from MO Route 58 to northbound I-49.
    • The northbound I-49 off ramp to 163rd Street.
    • The southbound I-49 off ramp at Commercial Street.
    • The northbound I-49 on ramp from Commercial Street:

 

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
