Now Open: Ramp from westbound U.S. Route 36 to Stockyards Expressway

U.S. Route 36 Missouri River bridges rehabilitation project in St. Joseph

St. Joseph, Mo. – The Buchanan County U.S. Route 36 westbound ramps to Missouri Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) is now open. Contractors from Comanche Construction Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, were able to reopen the ramp to Stockyards Expressway ahead of schedule. The ramp from Stockyards Expressway to westbound U.S. Route 36 remains closed as part of the rehabilitation of the U.S. Route 36 Pony Express Bridges over the Missouri River.

The rehabilitation project is expected to be complete on, or before Dec. 1. Both east and westbound U.S. Route 36 traffic over the bridge remains narrowed to one lane.
