Continues tonight: Lane and ramp closures scheduled for portions of I-49 Oct. 17-18

 

CASS COUNTY – Crews will be completing resurfacing work along various portions of northbound and southbound Interstate 49 beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, through Tuesday, Oct. 18. This work will require the following closures. All work is weather permitting.

Monday, Oct. 17

  • RESCHEDULED: Crews will close all four of the I-49 on and off ramps at MO Route 58 beginning at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, until approximately 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should note that only two pairs of ramps will be closed at a time. Motorists may need to seek alternate routes during this time. This work was originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15.

Tuesday, Oct. 18

  • RESCHEDULED: Crews will close the right most lane of northbound I-49 from approximately MO Route 58 to 163rd Street, as well as the northbound I-49 on and off ramps at MO Route 58 and 163rd Street beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning. This work was originally scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 16.
  • Crews will close all four of the on ramps to northbound and southbound I-49 at Route C/J beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, until approximately 6 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should note that only two pairs of ramps will be closed at a time. Motorists may need to seek alternate routes during this time.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
