Community invited to discuss upcoming intersection project

Buchanan County U.S. Route 59, Route 752 and Route U intersection

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Plans are underway for an intersection improvement project at Buchanan County U.S. Route 59, Route 752 and Route U in St. Joseph. The Missouri Department of Transportation will host a public information opportunity on Tuesday, Nov. 1, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at Hosea Elementary School located at 6401 Gordon Ave., St. Joseph, Missouri.

This will be an open house with no formal presentation. The public is invited to drop in any time between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Engineers and right of way employees from MoDOT will be on hand to discuss plans for the intersection, right of way, potential detour routes and to hear comments and concerns about the planned project The project is currently scheduled to go out for contractor bidding in March 2024.

If you are unable to attend the open house, two other opportunities for public comment are available through Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
