SIKESTON - Westbound Route 74 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews repair the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge. The Emerson Bridge spans the Mississippi River connecting Missouri Route 74 to Illinois Route 146.
This section of roadway is located from Fountain Street in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Levee Road in East Cape Girardeau, Illinois.
Weather permitting, work will take place Monday, Oct. 3 through Thursday, Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
