Ramps at Exit 99 to close as part of I-29 resurfacing project

Single-lane closures along I-29 in Holt and Atchison counties also planned

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A resurfacing and bridge improvement project on Interstate 29 in Atchison and Holt counties is moving into its next phase. Since July 18, Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, has been working on improvements to the Rock Creek Bridge, immediately south of Rock Port (Exit 107). Those improvements are wrapping up and crews will begin patching and asphalt paving after the Labor Day holiday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 7 a.m. to noon, at Exit 99 near Corning, the on-ramp from Route W to northbound I-29 and the off-ramp from southbound I-29 to Route W will both close so crews can safely repair the ramps in advance of resurfacing.

One lane, each direction, of I-29 will also close for patching and resurfacing. Lane closures can be expected in two-mile increments from Route 111 near Exit 107 to Exit 99 beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, and continuing through the end of October.

Crews may be working seven days a week, up to 12 hours per day. Please slow down and use caution in this and all work zones.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
