The Missouri Department of Transportation will close northbound U.S. Route 169 under NW Barry Road from approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, until approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28 to make urgent bridge repairs to the NW Barry Rd. bridge over U.S. Route 169. Northbound U.S. Route 169 traffic will be forced to exit on Barry Road. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
The bridge was hit and damaged the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 24 by a driver who left the scene. Anyone with information on the accident is encouraged to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol at (816) 622-0800.
NW Barry Rd. over U.S. Route 169 currently also has a lane reduction, which will remain in place long-term. Motorists should expect delays in the area. All work is weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
