ST. JOSEPH, Mo – The closure of Missouri Route 129 in Chariton County, 0.5 miles south of Route O near Salisbury, for a bridge deck replacement project has been postponed. The prime contractor for the project, Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., has notified the Missouri Department of Transportation that Route 129 will now close Monday, Sept. 12, at the bridge over the Chariton River, instead of Monday, Aug. 29, as previously planned.
The bridge is expected to reopen before the Thanksgiving Day holiday. During the closure, traffic will be routed over a signed detour on U.S. Route 24, Route 5 and Route O.
