ROCHEPORT – Daily morning lane closures will soon be required on Interstate 70 as work continues on the Lance Corporal Leon Deraps I-70 Missouri River bridge near Rocheport.
Beginning the week of Monday, August 29, westbound I-70 will be reduced to one lane on the bridge between the hours of 6 a.m. and Noon. The closure will take place Monday through Friday each week for approximately three weeks.
These closures will not take place Friday, September 2 or Monday, September 5 due to high traffic volumes over the Labor Day weekend. Work will resume on Tuesday, September 6.
This lane closure will allow the contractor to set the concrete girders on the new bridge, currently being built north of the current bridge.
Motorists should be advised of possible traffic delays during these times. Remember to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
This work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information and updates about this project, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
