UPDATE: Rail maintenance to close Carroll County Route 41 today and tomorrow

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The railroad contractor has notified the Missouri Department of Transportation that rail maintenance did not close Route 41 in Carroll County, between County Road 270 and County Road 280, yesterday, as originally planned. Instead, Route 41 will close at the rail crossing for 48 hours beginning today, Tuesday, Aug. 23 and continue through tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 24. It is possible the closure could extend into Thursday, Aug. 25. The railroad contractor has posted message boards near the crossing to alert drivers.

Motorists should plan an alternate route to use during the closure.
