HANNIBAL – Monday, August 22, Randolph County Route C, over U.S. Route 24, 3.6 miles east of Missouri Route 3, near Huntsville, will temporarily open for one week, while awaiting availability of painting crews. The bridge will close again on Monday, August 29, weather permitting, to complete the remaining work on the project. Scheduling changes could occur based on crew availability.
Traffic on Route C and U.S. 24 will be uninterrupted during the temporary opening. When the bridge closes again on August 29, traffic on Route C will not be able to cross the bridge, however all ramps to access and exit U.S. 24 will remain open. Traffic on U.S. 24 will not be able to travel under this structure but will be rerouted over the ramps.
Work began on the bridge repair project earlier this month and is expected to be completed by early September.
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract to PCiRoads, LLC of St. Michael, Minnesota earlier this year with a total cost of $191,058.
