Pear Street Drainage Improvement Project begins next week

St. Joseph, Mo. – A project to improve drainage on Loop 29 (Pear Street) between 29th and 31st streets in St. Joseph is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 22. Contractors from BRS Construction, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will also place a new culvert pipe beneath Pear Street.

During the culvert placement, Pear Street will close to thru traffic. This around-the-clock closure is currently scheduled for Sept. 12 – 17. During the closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route.

All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
