Rail maintenance to close Buchanan County Route U tomorrow

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Rail maintenance will close Route U (Alabama Street) in Buchanan County, between Route 759 (Stockyards Expressway) and U.S. Route 59. Contractors for the railroad have notified the Missouri Department of Transportation that Alabaman Street will be closed around-the-clock from tomorrow morning, Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 7 a.m., through Thursday evening, Aug. 18, at 5 p.m.

Motorists will be directed around the closure on a signed detour over U.S. Route 59, Illinois Avenue, and Stockyards Expressway.
