Crews will work to improve Missouri Route 92, and this will require a full closure of Route 92 between Mt. Olivet Road and Route E/Stark Ave., according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. Access will be limited to residential, local traffic only. The closure will begin Aug. 11 (rescheduled from Aug. 8) and will be in place approximately through until the end of Nov. 2022. There will be a signed detour in place. Additionally, City of Kansas City, Missouri, will continue work on a separate project to complete an urgent repair on North Stark Ave. All work is weather permitting.

This closure of Route 92 between Mt. Olivet Road and Route E/Stark Ave. is part of the Route 92 Roadway Safety Improvement project. This project is focused on safety improvements in the eastbound and westbound lanes on Route 92 from Liberty Road to Nations Road. Crews have completed four sections of this six-section project. Safety improvements vary depending on the section, but improvements include widened lanes, lengthened culverts, additional turn lanes, intersection site distance improvements, and resurfacing.

The current closure in place is the section of Route 92 just east of Route A to Plattsburg Road. This section will re-open in the coming weeks before the upcoming closure on between Mt. Olivet Road and Route E/Stark Ave.

As work begins on this next phase, the intersection of Mt. Olivet and Route 92 will remain open. There may be times throughout the construction process that the intersection of Mt. Olivet and Route 92 will be closed. Additional information will be shared by MoDOT prior to closing this intersection.

The final section scheduled for construction on Route 92 will be from Route E/Stark to east of Route C. Crews plan to complete construction on this section in the 2023 calendar year.
