TRAFFIC ALERT: MoDOT begins work on La Monte J-Turn Aug. 15, traffic impacts will be minimal

PETTIS COUNTY – MoDOT will begin work on the J-turn at the intersection of Missouri Route 127 and Missouri Route 50 on Aug. 15. Initial traffic impacts will be minimal and will not include lane closures.

The following closures will be on Aug. 22, 2022:

  • Both directions of Route 50 will be reduced to one lane of traffic. The lane closures on Route 50 will last through the duration of the project, which is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 1.
  • Northbound and southbound Route 127 will be closed at the intersection of Route 50. The closure is scheduled to last 20 days. The detour for northbound Route 127 will be Route FF to Route D. The detour to southbound Route 127 will be Route D to Route Y.

All work is weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
