MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road Bridge CLOSURE Beginning August 5 &

I-44 Traffic Shift Beginning August 8 in Springfield

Where/When:

  • Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road Bridge CLOSED in Springfield
    • Beginning Friday, August 5 for up to 26 days
  • Eastbound I-44 traffic shifted up and over I-44 using the eastbound I-44 on and off ramps (mile marker 84)
    • Beginning Monday, August 8 for up to 23 days

What: Contractor crews to replace the pavement on I-44 at Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road interchange (mile marker 84) and install median drainage improvements. This is part of the I-44 Pavement Improvement and Missouri Route 744 Bridge Rehabilitation Project. This project also includes the Chestnut Expressway Pavement Improvement Project between I-44 and Broadview Place which was completed June 17, 2022.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Missouri Route 744/Mulroy Road Bridge CLOSED in Springfield
  • Eastbound I-44 traffic shifted up and over I-44 closure using the eastbound I-44 on and off ramps (mile marker 84)
  • Eastbound I-44 will be closed at mile marker 84
  • Drivers should not pass in the work zone due to narrowed driving lanes
  • Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • Drivers should look for an alternate route
  • Signed detour includes: U.S. Route 65, Missouri 744/Kearney Street, Greene County Route OO, Missouri Route 125
  • Crews will work both daytime and nighttime hours
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
