SIKESTON—Work will soon get underway to replace the westbound Business 60 (Pine Street) bridge over the Black River and Union Pacific railroad in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Weather permitting, construction will begin Wednesday, Sept. 7 with completion anticipated by Monday, Sept. 25 2023.
During construction, westbound traffic will be shifted to a head-to-head configuration on the eastbound bridge. The head-to-head configuration will allow one lane of traffic in each direction. Riverview Drive and B Street will be closed during construction, and parking will not be allowed underneath the bridge along Riverview Drive.
The bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
