Sidewalk & Trail Crossing Improvements in Windsor Scheduled to Begin Week of Aug. 8

Henry County – Drivers should watch for contractor crews making sidewalk and trail crossing improvements and working close to traffic in Windsor beginning the week of August 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Improvements include making sidewalks, curb ramps and pedestrian areas conform to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.

Crews will be doing the following work in Windsor:

  • Missouri Route 2 (Benton Street) & Hyde Street – Replace a section of sidewalk, install curb ramps and signs
  • Henry County Route Y (Windsor Street) & Indiana Street – Replace a section of sidewalk, install curb ramps and signs
  • Missouri Route 2 (Benton Street) at Katy Trail Crossing between Bruce Street and Mill Street – Build concrete ramp
  • Missouri Route 52 (Main Street) at Rock Island Trail Crossing between Gasoline Alley and Bowen Avenue – Build concrete ramp

Traffic Impacts:

  • Work will be done during daytime hours (7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Friday)
  • Drivers may encounter flaggers in areas where crews are working
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zones
  • No signed detours
  • Drivers should find alternate routes around work zones
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling delays will alter the work schedule.

  • Prime contractor: Westport Construction Co., Clinton
  • Total cost: $84,000
  • Completion date: October 1, 2022
