MoDOT to close the eastbound I-44 on ramp from the Route 47 bridge starting Monday, August 1

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Drivers traveling on the Route 47 bridge over Interstate 44 will not be able to access eastbound I-44 from the bridge starting at 7 p.m., Monday, August 1, weather permitting.

The eastbound I-44 on-ramp will be closed for the duration of the bridge deck reconstruction and will be used as a staging area for materials related to the bridge demolition and reconstruction.

Weather permitting, the demolition of the Route 47 bridge is scheduled to occur starting on Friday, August 5 at 8 p.m. The demolition is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday, August 8. Route 47 will be closed to through traffic and traffic on I-44 will be reduced to one lane in each direction and re-routed up and over the ramps. During the demolition work, the eastbound I-44 on-ramp will be open to re-direct eastbound I-44 traffic.

Motorists wishing to use Route 47 are advised to use Route 30 as a detour.
