Lane Closures Planned on Eastbound Route 50 Bridge at Moreau River

UPDATED 7/28/22 3:30 PM - Updated to reflect that the bridge being worked on is the eastbound Moreau River bridge, not the Osage River bridge.

JEFFERSON CITY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close one lane of the eastbound U.S. Route 50 bridge over the Moreau River east of Jefferson City over the next two weekends.

The repair work on piling and encasement will close one eastbound lane of Route 50 the evening of Friday, July 29 through Sunday evening, July 31, and again on Friday, August 5 through Sunday, August 7. The speed limit will also be reduced through the work zone.

Traffic delays are possible. MoDOT appreciates the patience of motorists and encourages all drivers to stay focused on the road, obey all traffic signs, and watch for workers on the road.

The work is part of an overall project to rehabilitate the eastbound and westbound Route 50 bridges over the Osage River and the eastbound Route 50 bridge over the Moreau River. More information is available at www.modot.org/OsageMoreauBridgeRehabs.

The work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about these project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for project updates.
