TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane Reduction, Traffic Delays on I-49 in Newton Co. for Pavement Repair Aug. 2

Where: Southbound I-49 from near Iris Road (Exit 30) to a point approximately one mile south in Newton County near Neosho

When: 4 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday, August 2

What: Contractor crews replacing high-friction pavement treatment

Traffic Impacts:

  • Traffic reduced to one lane where crews are working
  • Expect delays during high traffic volume times
  • Speed limit reduced to 60 mph through work zone
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching work zone
  • No signed detour
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
