HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, July 25, contractor crews will start work on a pavement repair project on U.S. Route 63 in Adair, Macon and Randolph counties. Work is scheduled to begin on the north end of the project limits in Adair County and progress towards Randolph County.
The project includes crack sealing, diamond grinding and concrete repairs. All work will be done to concrete pavement sections only at three locations:
· Adair County - Southbound U.S. 63 from the south Bus. 63 interchange, south of Kirksville, to just south of Glenview Trail, near the airport.
· Macon County - Various sections on northbound and southbound U.S. 63 from Route AX to the north edge of the City of Macon.
· Randolph County - Various sections on northbound and southbound U.S. 63 between Jacksonville and Moberly.
“Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project," explained Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Jeff Kroner. “For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions,” he added.
Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
This contract was awarded last fall to Emery Sapp and Sons of Columbia, Missouri in the amount of $1,742,540. All work is scheduled to be completed by November 1.
