Resurfacing Projects Scheduled to Begin in Lincoln, Warren and St. Charles Counties

HANNIBAL – Drivers can expect to experience temporary traffic impacts, beginning the week of August 1, weather permitting, as resurfacing work begins on Route U in Lincoln County from Missouri Route 47 in to Route J near Troy. This project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August.

The $1.9M contract, awarded last year to Pace Construction Company, includes two additional projects at the following locations:

  • Route A in Lincoln County – Resurfacing from Route DD to I-70 near Pendleton in Warren County.  The total length of improvement is 12.9 miles.  Workers will be present during daylight hours.  Work is scheduled to begin August 1 with the milling of butt joints.  Work will then be temporarily suspended and resume on August 12, weather permitting, with resurfacing operations, when work on Lincoln County Route U is complete. All work will be completed within 30 days.
  • Route TT in Warren and St. Charles counties – resurfacing from Missouri Route 94 near Dutzow to Route T in St. Charles County.  All work on this project will be completed during nighttime hours, between 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. when traffic volumes are lower.  The total length of improvement is 3.5 miles.  All work will be completed within 30 days. (Scheduled to begin mid-September)

“Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project," explained Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Jeff Niemeyer. “For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, we would like to remind drivers to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions,” he added.

Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.  Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.  All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
