HANNIBAL – Weather permitting, the week of July 11, contractor crews will start resurfacing operations on Route U in Clark/Scotland County from U.S. Route 136 in Scotland County to Rte. A in Clark County, 1.9 miles south of Wyaconda. The total length of improvement is 15.4 miles.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane at the location where crews are actively working with flaggers and a pilot car utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours. This project is scheduled to be completed by early August.
This contract includes two additional resurfacing projects at the following locations:
· Adair/Macon County, Missouri Route 149 - Resurface from Missouri Route 6 to Missouri Route 11 and from Missouri Route 11 to Route J in Goldsberry. The total length of improvement is 23.4 miles. Additional details on this project and traffic impacts will be released prior to the start of work.
· Clark/Lewis County, Route A - Resurface from U.S. Route 136 in Clark County to Route E in Williamstown in Lewis County. The length of the improvement is 19.6 miles. This project is currently in progress.
For the safety of the crews and the traveling public, drivers are reminded to be attentive in work zones and put down your cell phones to eliminate distractions. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
This contract was awarded last fall to W.L. Miller Company of Hamilton, Illinois in the amount of $4,021,555.
