TRAFFIC ALERT: Jasper County Route P CLOSED West of Joplin for Pavement Sealing Work June 29 & 30

Jasper County – Jasper County Route P will be CLOSED while MoDOT crews seal the highway with a mixture of rock and oil Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 & 30, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

Crews will seal the pavement between the Missouri/Kansas state line and Jasper County Roue JJ west of Joplin.

Traffic Impacts:

  • All lanes of Route P will be CLOSED for up to half of a day between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., June 29 & 30
  • The highway will be closed one mile at a time where MoDOT crews are working
  • Drivers will encounter flaggers directing traffic through the work zone
  • No signed detours
  • Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed when traveling over recently-sealed sections of the highway
  • Drivers should look for alternate routes
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
