MoDOT to close WB I-70 at Taylor June 17-20

ST. LOUIS – Drivers heading out of the city of St. Louis on Interstate 70 the weekend after Memorial Day may want to consider alternate routes or allow extra time as the department closes the westbound interstate.

This is the second closure needed at westbound I-70 between Carrie and West Florissant Avenue to complete girder repairs to the Taylor Avenue bridge over the interstate, starting at 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, weather permitting. This work was delayed from early in the month.

The ramps from Adelaide and Carrie to westbound I-70 and the ramp from westbound I-70 to West Florissant Avenue will also be closed, starting at 7 p.m. June 17.

All lanes and ramps will be reopened to traffic by 5 a.m. Monday, June 20.

Detours for westbound I-70 and for southbound West Florissant Avenue will be marked.

With the planned closure of I-55 in both directions in south St. Louis County, traffic heading to between Missouri and Illinois is strongly encouraged to use I-270 or I-255 during this weekend work.
