Overnight Lane Closures to Take Place Next Week as Part of I-70 Rocheport Bridge Replacement Project

ROCHEPORT – Contractors for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will be closing one lane of westbound Interstate 70 overnights next week near the Lance Corporal Leon Deraps I-70 Missouri River (Rocheport) Bridge in order to install concrete barriers in the median.

The closures will be in place from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night, starting Monday, June 13. The barrier installation is expected to be complete by Friday, June 17.

MoDOT says the barrier being installed will replace the guard cable in the median, providing more safety for motorists and workers in that area as work progresses on the new bridges. In the coming weeks, crews will begin more work along the median and roadway. That work will also require nightly lane closures.

MoDOT will provide more details on future closures through the Traveler Information Map, message boards on the roadway, news releases, and on social media. You can find more details or subscribe to updates on the Rocheport Bridge project at www.modot.org/rocheportbridge.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
