Rescheduled: Mercer County Route D bridge rehabilitation project

Expected start date: June 20

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A project to rehabilitate the Sandy Creek Bridge on Mercer County Route D, south of U.S. Route 136, is now scheduled to begin Monday, June 20. Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc., contacted by the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the roadway at the bridge during construction which is expected to be completed in late August. During the closure, motorists will need to use an alternate route

The project to replace the bridge deck includes bringing the bridge up to current standards, improving the driving surface and removing the current load posting which limits the speed of vehicles greater that 18 tons.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
