Lane closure on ramp from eastbound I-670 to northbound U.S. 71 will cause delays this weekend

JACKSON COUNTY – Crews will be CLOSING the left lane of the northbound U.S. 71 bridge over 12th Street in the southeast corner of the downtown loop beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 10, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, June 13, for urgent bridge deck repairs. This lane closure will cause significant delays in the area due to the its location. This lane closure is located right after the ramp where eastbound I-670 joins northbound U.S. 71. Rather than having their own lane, traffic on the I-670 ramp will need to merge into the traffic along northbound U.S. 71. Additionally, this ramp is part of the detour route for the Buck O’Neil bridge replacement project. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow for extra time, or seek an alternate route if possible. All work is weather permitting.

For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
