ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – U.S. Route 59 in Andrew County at the bridge over Interstate 29 (Exit 65) is now open after a bridge rehabilitation project. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to rehabilitate the bridge. Crews began work Friday, April 1 and were able to reopen the bridge to all traffic this afternoon.
The bridge was reopened with channelizers where guardrail will be placed on Monday, June 6, weather permitting. Drivers are urged to use caution over the weekend and through Monday, when the road will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers directing motorists through the guardrail installation work zone.
