Where: No left turns at the eastbound I-44 exit ramp to travel westbound Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) toward the Springfield-Branson National Airport in west Springfield
When: 1 p.m. Friday, June 3 until 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8
What: Contractor crews to replace the pavement on westbound Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) between I-44 and Broadview Place. This left turn restriction is for safety reasons. This is part of the Chestnut Expressway Pavement Improvement Project.
Traffic Impacts:
- No left turns at the eastbound I-44 exit ramp to travel westbound Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) toward the Springfield-Branson National Airport in west Springfield
- Traffic can make right turns at the eastbound I-44 exit ramp
- Detour route: Eastbound I-44, Greene County Route B, Missouri Route 266
- Traffic shifted to head-to-head configuration on eastbound lanes of Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44) in west Springfield
- Crews will work both daytime and nighttime hours
- Drivers should not pass in the work zone due to narrowed driving lanes
- Crews and equipment close to traffic in areas
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
- Drivers should look for an alternate route
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
