MoDOT closes left lane of eastbound Interstate 44 at Eureka for emergency work through Wed., June 1

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Crews completed the emergency bridge expansion joint repair in the two right lanes of eastbound Interstate 44 at the Meramec River near Eureka Saturday evening, May 28, ahead of schedule. Currently, the two right lanes of eastbound I-44 are open.

The bridge expansion joint repair work has begun in the left lane of eastbound I-44. The left lane closure is expected to remain in place until Wednesday, June 1 and could impact the morning commute.

Alternate detours for eastbound I-44 include:

  • Eastbound I-44 traffic can exit at Gray Summit and continue east on Route 100.
  • Eastbound drivers can also choose to exit at Route 109 in Eureka and then proceed on Route 109 to Route 100.
  • Other bypass options include Route 30 and Route 21.
