Clear Creek Bridge Replacement Begins Next Week

PHELPS COUNTY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will begin the process of replacing the Phelps County Route B bridge over Clear Creek on Wednesday, June 1.

The bridge is located south of the Gasconade County line. The existing Clear Creek structure was built in 1934 and the condition of the bridge has reached a point where replacement is necessary.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Route B will be closed while the work takes place. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in late August. Motorists will need to use an alternate route.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information and updates about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for project updates.
