Southbound I-35 in Harrison County now OPEN

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The southbound lanes of Interstate 35 just south of Bethany are now open. The southbound lanes closed early yesterday morning, May 5, between Exits 93 and 88 due to a traffic crash in the work zone of the Pole Cat Creek Bridge rehabilitation project.

As the rehabilitation project continues, one lane of I-35, each direction, will continue to be closed around mile marker 90, approximately 2 miles south of U.S. Route 136. A 12-foot width restriction is in place. Motorists could experience delays and may wish to use an alternate route.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by always buckling up, keeping your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
