ST. LOUIS – Drivers heading into the city of St. Louis on Interstate 44 next Monday night should consider alternate routes or allow extra time as the department closes the ramp to Interstate 55 overnight.
Crews will be making pavement repairs on eastbound I-44 and northbound I-55 between the ramp to I -55 and Park Avenue, starting at 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, weather permitting. To do this, they will close the ramp from eastbound I-44 to I-55, as well as the on ramp from Route 30 (Gravois) and the off ramp from I-55 to Park Avenue for safety. In addition, two lanes northbound on I-55 from the ramp to Park will be closed for the work.
Lanes and ramps are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 3.
The detour for EB I-44 will take drivers south onto I-55 where they can turn around at Arsenal to head north on Interstate 55. Detours for closed ramps will be posted.
