Eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 36 closed just east of Marceline due to a crash

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Eastbound U.S. Route 36 in Linn County, just east of Marceline is closed due to a crash. A tractor-trailer struck the railroad bridge and hazardous materials are involved. The roadway could be closed for several hours. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation are assisting the Missouri State Highway Patrol at the scene. MSHP is diverting eastbound traffic at Route 5 (Marceline). Until the roadway is reopened, motorists must use a different route.
