Emergency guardrail repairs will close Interstate 35 tomorrow

Southbound traffic to be rerouted at Bethany

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Southbound Interstate 35, between U.S. Route 136 and Route 13 (Exits 92 and 88), will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, April 21, at 8 p.m. until Friday, April 21 at 2 a.m. Repairs to damaged guardrail, where crews already had the interstate narrowed to one lane for a bridge project, will require the only open lane to be closed while repairs are made.

During the one-day closure, southbound traffic will be diverted at at Exit 92. Traffic will be directed west on U.S. Route 136, then south onto Route 13 near the southern city limits of Bethany. Southbound traffic will rejoin I-35 at Exit 88.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
