SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve Route K in Reynolds and Iron Counties. Improvements will extend from 2.5 miles east of Route 21 near Ellington, Missouri to 1.3 miles west of Route 49 near Annapolis, Missouri.

Nine curves will be improved along the project limits. The project includes widening, adding edgeline rumble stripes and adding guardrail to one curve, as well as adding edgeline rumble stripes to eight other curves. Right of way acquisition will only be required at the curve widening location.

The project is expected to be let in January 2023, with construction beginning as early as spring 2023.

Traffic will continue to use the existing roadway during construction. As the new pavement is tied into the existing pavement, flaggers will be present to guide motorists through the work zone.

Completion is anticipated in late 2023.
