TRAFFIC ALERT: Expect Traffic Delays on I-49 in Newton County Sunday, April 24 for Utility Work

Where: I-49 in Newton County between Route V and Missouri Route 175 near Neosho

When: For a short time between 6 a.m.-10 a.m., Sunday, April 24

What: Traffic slowed in both directions to allow contractor crews to work on power lines over the interstate

Traffic Impacts:

  • On ramps CLOSED in both directions at Newton County Route V, Iris Road and Missouri Route 175
  • Law enforcement will slowly lead I-49 traffic through work zone
  • Drivers will experience delays while utility crews do their work
  • No signed detours
  • Signs and message boards will alert traffic approaching the work zone
  • Drivers urged to consider alternate routes
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
