Culvert Pipe Replacement to Impact Travel on Route 52

ELDON – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will close Route 52 to traffic  between Route 54 and Tuscumbia next week in order to improve drainage along the roadway.

MoDOT crews will be replacing culvert pipes at several locations along Route 52 near Old Tuscumbia Road. Work will take place and the closure will be in place Tuesday, April 19 and Wednesday, April 20 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Local traffic will still have access to the area. Route 17 will be used as a detour for through traffic.

Message boards will be in place in advance to warn motorists of the closures and flaggers will be in place at the work zone to guide local traffic. MoDOT appreciates the patience of travelers while the work takes place and advises drivers to obey all traffic signs and avoid distractions in the work zone.

Work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook or Twitter for project updates.
