Daviess County bridge rehabilitation project postponed two days

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The start of the Sampson Creek bridge rehabilitation project on Daviess County Route Z, located just west of Pattonsburg, has been pushed back two days due to weather. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to replace the bridge’s deck.

Crews now plan to close the bridge to all traffic on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at approximately 7 a.m. The bridge will remain closed through mid-June 2022. During the closure, motorists will be detoured over Route AA, Route T and U.S. Route 69.

The project includes bringing the bridge up to current standards and removing the current load posting which limits the speed of vehicles greater that 21 tons.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
