Daviess County bridge rehabilitation project to begin soon

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Sampson Creek Bridge on Daviess County Route Z, located just west of Pattonsburg, will close soon for a bridge rehabilitation project. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. to replace the bridge’s deck.

Crews plan to close the bridge to all traffic on Monday, April 18, 2022, at approximately 7 a.m. The bridge will remain closed through mid-June 2022. During the closure, motorists will be detoured over Route AA, Route T and U.S. Route 69.

The project includes bringing the bridge up to current standards and removing the current load posting which limits the speed of vehicles greater that 21 tons.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
