Ramp and road closures scheduled for portions of I-49 in March

 

JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT will close one lane of southbound Interstate 49 between Main St. and 140th St. daily beginning at 6 p.m. through 2:30 p.m. the following days beginning on Monday, March 28, through Friday, April 1.

This work also includes various ramp CLOSURES along portions of I-49 in Grandview, MO already in place. These closures are part of the City of Grandview’s I-49 Outer Road Conversion Project. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will CLOSE the ramp from Main St. to southbound Interstate 49 in Grandview beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, March 14, until approximately Thursday, April 7. Motorists will need to use alternate routes or the signed detour which will route traffic south along I-49’s west outer road to 140th St. and onto southbound I-49. This closure is for the construction of a new ramp.
  • Crews will also CLOSE a portion of the I-49 east outer road between White Ave. and the northbound I-49 exit ramp to 140th St. beginning on Monday, March 14, until approximately Sunday, June 12. Motorists will need to use alternate routes or the signed detour which will route traffic eastbound on MO Route 150 to Byars Rd., northbound on Byars Rd. to 140th St., and then west back to the I-49 east outer road. This closure is for the construction of a new roundabout at 143rd St.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
