Resurfacing to begin soon Route 149 in Adair and Putnam counties

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A resurfacing project will begin soon on Missouri Route 149 in Adair and Putnam counties. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Magruder Paving, LLC to complete the project which includes multiple other routes (see below).

The contractor plans to begin Monday, April 4, with resurfacing on Route 149 between Route 6 in Novinger (Adair County) and Route AA (Putnam County). Work on Route 149 is expected to be complete by May 2, 2022. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.  All projects included in the contract are tentatively scheduled to be complete by late May.

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

One route remains in this resurfacing bundle. Resurfacing of Route K from U.S. Route 136 in Putnam County to Route E in Sullivan County is expected to begin April 18

All other routes in this resurfacing bundle are either in progress or complete, including:

  • Route E in Putnam County from U.S. Route 136 to the Iowa state line – IN PROGRESS. Expected completion on or before March 28.
  • Route T in Sullivan County from Route 5 to Route C – COMPLETED in March 2022
  • Route Y in Grundy and Mercer counties – COMPLETED in 2021
  • Route E in Grundy and Linn counties – COMPLETED in 2021
